Who Has a Title? :) I'm usually just BHOFM

I'm in my late 60's and have been shooting since I was a little kid. I am a bit knowledgeable but refuse to use the term expert. There are so many "experts" out there some of whom don't have since enough to empty a filled boot with the directions on the heel.

As for survival weapons I have two older Mini 14's and several magazines for them. These are my survival rifles
but they are not my first choice. I've had them for years and can't afford to replace them. They are good but not optimum. I also have 12 gauge shotguns and a selection of handguns. Model 1911 in .45 acp being my preference.
In my opinion any AK-47, SKS design is superior to all others as a survival weapon. These guns
will shoot all day long without TLC or even cleaning.
Survivalists may well be in a situation worse than some combat scenerios. They don't have a headquarters somewhere in the rear. They don't have resupply. They don't have an armorer to provide assistance and may not have time to properly maintain their equipment.
Shame on us if we don't maintain our equipment Obviously those reading this posting should realize the
importance of preventitive maint but to stake your life on a missed rifle cleaning should only be done when that rifle is of Kalasinikov design.
Well, that's my opinion and I know what opinions are worth. But mine is based on over 60 years of shooting and perhaps a million rounds fired.
