Survival Skills Schools

Survival Skills Schools

As you gain knowledge of survival skills, remember to practice, practice, practice.

There are survival schools in every part of the United States that will train you in the skills you will need to survive in the wilderness areas around them. There are also more comprehensive survival schools that will prepare you for a variety of survival situations, in different terrains, climates and locales.

Another thing you will wish to consider when looking at survival skills schools is the expense of the courses. Some survival skills schools are linked with colleges so the tuition will be less for the course. Other survival schools that are privately owned may charge a little more, but you will want to realize the courses offered will also help you choose equipment and be more personal.

Then again, some survival skills schools try to cram 14-days learning into seven days. You need to select the course after careful consideration of your own fitness and ability to “tough it out”. It is really up to you to decide how many days you feel you will need to prepare for the wilderness experience.

The only way to determine which survival schools are the best is to speak with the instructors themselves. A good instructor will have personal, hands-on experience in outdoor survival situations. Many of the best instructors started their outdoor survival training with stints in the military.
