Have a gas mask...breathe safe be safe.
Don't be a Victim, Be PreparedUntil recently most civilian gas-filtering masks did not contain any hydration system. If you were walking or working you would have to find a location that was safe from contamination in order to take a drink. Today, regular people have access to the masks that come equipped with a protected water supply. In an emergency situation this added safety feature will prevent injuries and provide the wearer with an added safety feature. Israeli gas masks, like any other type of mask, require some adjustment to the wearer. In order to prepare for the unthinkable each person should take the time to adjust their mask. Individuals with beards should be aware that beards and large mustaches interfere with the snug fit required for proper protection. Small children need assistance when putting on their protective breathing masks. All masks should fit snugly against the face and have no gaps or openings. Gas-free breathing masks come with filters which should be changed according to the manufacturers’ specifications. Israeli breathing masks suggest filters be replaced every 6-10 hours depending on the emergency. In most situations 6-10 hours provides enough time to evacuate to a more secure and safe location. Recently, there was an episode of the television show "The Unit" that demonstrated just how important a gas mask can be. Terrorists had captured the local water processing plant and from there were able to pump chlorine/chloride gas into the city. The show effectively demonstrated just how easy it would be to kill thousands very quickly by distributing a poisonous gas. If you live in a city, you need to seriously consider adding gas masks to your bugout or gobag and other preps.
