Get a good book about edible forest plants

bigtrees Coniferous forest plants may be useful in herbal plants, wild edible plants, and medicinal plants. In order to understand which plants can help you during your stay in the wild you will need to do a little research.

The best type of research a person can complete before entering into the world of coniferous forest plants is to speak with a botanist, take a course on identifying plants, or even visit an area arboritorium.. Any of these sources will help you identify those plants that are edible or provide medical help.

rosehips2Forest plants need to be identified if they are going to help you. In other words, you will want to be able to recognize the plants with surety. This is where preparation can come in handy. A little education will help you recognize certain characteristics of wild plants that will help you identify them.

Other methods for identifying plants are books. The most helpful books are those with a description that will help you decipher the appearance of different edible wild plants. A picture will not always suffice when you are trying to discern between two different types of wild plants.

Morels are among the most easily identifible mushrooms, and they are also delicious!

moralA good example of flora to be found in a pine forest is the wide variety of mushrooms, especially if the season has been very wet. Mushrooms can be edible, but telling them apart from poisonous mushrooms is extremely hard. In fact, unless you know exactly what the mushroom is, you will want to leave that type of coniferous forest plants alone.
