When you build a solar heater it must not only be able to collect the heat collected from the solar cells, but there must be some type of delivery system. Some solar homes use a type of collecting system such as a water tank. The hot water is then circulated throughout the house, usually via pipes under the floor. This not only heats the house, but it means no cold floors.

One type of solar collector is a solar cell. Solar cells are usually made of a reflective glass that will heat to over a hundred degrees. Once you have this solar cell you also need a way for it to bring the heat into your home or the area you are heating.

Most often the sun may be enough, but if you want a heater you need a coiling type system. One type of coiling system allows the heat to pass through the solar heater and blow out the hot air.

One of the reasons to build a solar heater is to save energy, and use a power source that does not deplete the earth’s resources. While saving energy is important, having a solar heater during a power outage or during a disaster survival situation can be even more important.
