Build a Solar Battery ChargerA solar battery charger can keep you out of the dark.
You will need six to twelve solar cells; the number is up to you and depends on the size of the windowpane. You will also need 22- or 26-gauge wire, duct tape, a cardboard box and a diode blocker.
For those who aren't that handy, there are small portable solar battery chargers available.
To start building your solar battery charger, lay out six solar cells on the deepest side of the window. If you want a fast charge, you will want to use twelve cells, but a slower charge comes from using only six cells. The shallow side of the window should be the top side. Once you have your cells in place you need to get the soldering gun hot.
If you build a solar battery charger, you want to have something that will quickly charge the batteries therefore you will use no more than twelve of them even though there is room for more. For more information on how to build a solar battery charger, click here. Additional Information
